Welcome to OPTIMIST - Optimizing digital task implementation in school teaching
Building on previous Erasmus+ project results, the project OPTIMIST aims to improve school teachers’ ability to plan and practically implement digitally supported communicative language learning tasks in classrooms with young learners. The project sets out to provide teachers with a digital pedagogical tool (i.e., the DIGITASK web app) to facilitate task-based language teaching and learning and support them in creating differentiating and individualizing tasks for their learners.
What are the aims of OPTIMIST?
To support school teachers in the planning and implementation of digitally supported communicative language learning tasks
To provide a digital pedagogical tool (based on the DIGITASK web application) to facilitate task-based language teaching
To differentiate and individualize tasks for learners
What are the planned outputs?
a digital tool
adapted to the needs of lower secondary language teaching
a model task bank
(Open Educational Resources – OER)
a training course
for teachers with videos of task implementation
The DigiTask Web App
The DIGITASK Web App operates as a digital pedagogical task generator that allows teachers to create tasks and assign them to their students.
With the creation of the DIGITASK app, the ERASMUS+ project DIGITASK4IC consortium aimed to innovate task-based language teaching and language teacher education practices by digitizing pedagogical task design and incorporating TBLT and L2 interactional competence.
